Check Mate Building Inspection - Effective Date: 12/07/2025

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the services provided by Check Mate Building Inspection ("we", "our", or "us"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use our services.

These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales (NSW), Australia.

2. Services Provided

We provide professional building inspection services, including but not limited to:

  • Pre-Purchase Building Inspections
  • Structural Building Inspections
  • Termite and Pest Inspections
  • Combined Inspection Packages

All inspections are conducted in accordance with relevant Australian Standards (e.g., AS 4349.1) and NSW regulations.

3. Client Responsibilities

As a client, you agree to:

  • Provide accurate and complete information regarding the property to be inspected.
  • Ensure access to the property at the agreed-upon time.
  • Make full payment for services rendered as per the agreed quote.
  • Understand that inspections are visual and non-invasive, and may not reveal all hidden defects.
4. Inspection Reports

Our inspection reports are prepared based on the visual assessment of the property at the time of inspection. Reports are for your information only and should not be considered a warranty or guarantee. We recommend seeking further advice from relevant professionals (e.g., structural engineers, pest controllers) for any significant issues identified.

Reports are typically delivered within 24 hours of the inspection.

5. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by law, Check Mate Building Inspection shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, or any loss of data, use, goodwill, or other intangible losses, resulting from (a) your access to or use of or inability to access or use the services; (b) any conduct or content of any third party on the services; (c) any content obtained from the services; and (d) unauthorized access, use or alteration of your transmissions or content.

6. Payment Terms

Payment for services is due upon completion of the inspection, unless otherwise agreed in writing. We accept various payment methods, including credit card and bank transfer. Late payments may incur additional fees.

7. Cancellations and Rescheduling

Cancellations or rescheduling requests must be made at least 24 hours prior to the scheduled inspection time. Failure to do so may result in a cancellation fee.

8. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed and construed in accordance with the laws of New South Wales, Australia, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

9. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify or replace these Terms at any time. If a revision is material, we will provide at least 30 days' notice prior to any new terms taking effect. What constitutes a material change will be determined at our sole discretion.
